Tanzania Cricket

BBC has recently produced 2 articles on its news website regarding cricket in Tanzania, in particular the development of its women's game.

This is of particular interest to CCC as we have in the recent past hosted the Men's national squad here in the UK and through a member club, Watford Town CC, assisted in developing Tanzanian cricketers by instigating a player programme with the Tanzania Cricket Association, enabling its young talent to play as overseas players with clubs in the Saracens Hertfordshire League. 3 of CCC's representative players, Ed Wharton (Hornsey CC), Richard Cook (Aston Rowant CC) and Zawar Hussain (Watford Town CC) have just returned this week from the Tanzania T20 tournament based in Dar es Salaam, where they played as overseas players in a franchise alongside players from Kenya, India and South Africa.

CCC values its links with the governing bodies of developing cricket nations and is committed to supporting and developing these relationships. Its annual tour programme is geared towards visiting Affiliate and Associate ICC member countries and this year CCC is hoping to host a quadrangular tournament for ICC Europe nations in August and concluding its representative season with a tour to Holland in September.
