Bucks won the toss & batted
Bucks - 262 for 8 wkts (50 overs) Michael Payne 90, Matt Rance 65*, Bilat Butt 3/44.
CCC - 227 all out (49.1 overs) Wes Morrick 72.
Michael Payne's innings, batting at no. 5, was the real difference in this match.
One opener in each team reached double figures, as did one other first 7 batter in each team (excluding Michael for Bucks).
Both teams accumulated over 100 runs in their final 10 overs, with Matt Rance providing most of those for Bucks, & Wes Morrick for the CCC.(Wes had replaced an injured Justin Granger half way during the Bucks innings).
Nearly 500 runs in the first match of the season provided a useful exercise for both teams.
This was the earliest match that the CCC had ever started a season with, and we were thankful for a fine dry day. As well as a beautifully prepared wicket & ground, plus perfect catering & hospitality from Aston Rowant CC.
