Match report:
A damp pitch meant a delayed start to 11.52am, and a reduced overs game of 35/35.
Combined St David's won the toss, & elected to bat.
'Damp pitch', was a massive understatement. Playing on a 'large sponge', was more accurate. It reminded this correspondent of a Teddington 4th XI match v the Middlesex Tamils 3's at Sundown Park, off the Hendon Way, North London, a few years ago. It was going to be a challenge for any batsmen to get to double figures.

CCC - 217 for 7 wkts (35 overs) Sam Burge 90.
2 early wickets lost, a 'start' to 44 for 3 down, Sam finding his own way to score heavily to be 5th out at 151 (9 x 4's, 4 x 6's, 62 balls), Dan Yarnley ensuring we got near/over 200.

St David's - 111 all out (22.3 overs) K Peters 41, Adam Riley 4/17.
As they took the field, the CCC fielders needed to be wary of the javelin throwers of the local athletics club practicing just over the boundary line.
The St David's team found it equally, if not more difficult to score runs. Simple/straight bowling was the way to get wickets. A 31 run partnership for the 8th wicket was the best St David's could do, with no. 8, K Peters finding the boundary with 4 x 4's, & 3 x 6's, during his 31 ball innings. He was last out, bowled by Adam Riley, who ended up with the match-best bowling fiures.

A nice way to start the tour, although a slight down-side for the CCC were 3 players with minor injuries ; although none serious (we hope).
