Select XI won the toss, & elected to bat.
BS XI: 218 for 8 wkts (50 overs) R Boucher 41, C St. Hill 58.
CCC: 143 all out (29.4 overs) Richard Wharton 46*, T Ifill 3/18, M Welcome-Goodman 4/17.
BS XI won by 7 runs by D/L due to rain in the afternoon ; CCC innings set to 30 overs.
Good 2nd & 3rd wkt stands set the BS XI for a good score : 125 for 2 wkts at 30 overs. Tidy bowling in tandem by Yarnley & Payne ensured the scoring rate did not accelerate, & Chowdhury picked-up 2 wickets at the death.
The CCC reply got off to a bad start with 3 wickets falling in the first 3 overs. Waqas Hussain & Richard Wharton took the score to 77, before Waqas was out in the 17th over. Richard batted positively throughout, but none of the middle order stayed with him. 20 runs were required from the last 3 overs with 2 wkts remaining, but both fell in the final over.
