The draw for Rounds 1 & 2 were made today by CCC Fixture Bureau employee, Val Baker (known to many club Fixture Secretaries as 'the voice of the CCC', or more precisely 'the voice at the end of the CCC Fixture Bureau phone number)

Similar to what Peter Crouch did in the recent FA Cup draw, Val drew both Home & Away teams for both Rounds.

We thank the 48 clubs who entered this year's competition.

That number required 32 x clubs to be randomly drawn to play in Round 1, then the 16 x 'winners' from Round 1 and the 16 others went into the draw for Round 2.

As usual there is a mixture of 'local derby's', and 'distance draws' to play a club you have never played before (a 'magical' aspect of an FA Cup type draw). The 'heavy-weight' draws that are always a feature of open draws, see in Round 1, Tunbridge Wells v Sutton, and Harefield v Wanstead. Whilst in Round 2 we have Sandwich Town v Brentwood, and Crouch End v East Molesey, as the 'heavyweight' draws.
