For decades Barbados has been synonymous with cricket; producing somewhat of a conveyor belt of outstanding cricketers who have dominated the game and put the island firmly on the global cricket map. Players like Sir Everton Weekes, Sir Clyde Walcott, Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Conrad Hunte, and the undisputed greatest cricketer of all Time – The Right Excellent Sir Garfield Sobers, blazed the trail for the likes of Gordon Greenidge, Desmond Haynes, Joel Garner and Malcolm Marshall to follow, to mention a few.

"The Barbados Tourism Authority UK has worked to identify and establish relationships with key cricketing associations and partners with a view to raising the Barbados profile amongst the cricket fraternity. As such, the BTA is delighted to announce a partnership with the Club Cricket Conference (CCC) ; an association of 1500 clubs and leagues based in the South of England. The BTA is looking forward to embracing the interests of club cricket at all levels. What’s more, 2015 sees the celebration of CCC’s centenary and as such, the association will be touring Barbados with a representative team, a ladies and veterans squad in October. England may be the birthplace of cricket but it has always had the strongest connections with Barbados.  The BTA’s partnership with the CCC is a fantastic vehicle to further increase the awareness of Barbados as a tourism destination and to encourage travel."
