Match report:
CCC - 272 for 7 wkts declared (59.1 overs)
SLH - 218 all out (42 overs)

Through-out this match we saw the rain in the distance, only for it to by-pass the Thames estuary and head towards the M25/M11.
These days not many teams bowl at 20 overs per hour, as the CCC scored 159 off 40 overs in the morning session. Waqas Hussain was dismissed in over 37 for 89 runs (13 x 4's & 2 x 6's). An excellent 1 hour 20 minutes lunch was taken in the recently re-built club house ; which along with the development of a second cricket pitch (+ 2 rugby pitches) was primarly funded by grants from local environmental trusts.
The over rate & run rate was continued after lunch, with Tom Cullen missing his century by 2 runs when cutting at a fuller-wider delivery, after 2 x 4's in the same over. Some lusty blows by captain Roy Smith & 16 yr old Freddie Wilson enabled a healthy declaration.
CCC captured 4 wickets for 51 before tea, with The Cricket Society's, Neil Holmes, & CCC office manager, Stan Nicholson, collecting 2 each. Freddie Wilson's leggies captured 2 wickets before the 100, where apon Ross Poulton decided to throw caution to the wind. Joe Joyce took the braunt of the on-slaught, with 51 runs coming off his 4 overs. He did get the batsman at the other end out, and Neil Holmes returned to pick-up his 3rd wicket. Poulton was still there, looking very dangerous as he got his century (17 x 4's & 4 x 6's) and took SLHCC past 200. Another set of bowling changes resulted in Hamzah Khan dismissing Poulton & no. 10 in the 42nd over.
A wonderful celebration match played in great spirit.
