Match report:
CCC: 193 all out (49.5 overs)
Herts: 194 for 6 wkts (49.2 overs)
A very good low scoring game which went down to the last over with Herts Academy winning by 4 wickets. The CCC won the toss and opted to have a bat. The foundations were set through a wonderfully positive innings of 63 by Waqas Hussain. However, his dismissal coupled with the disciplined bowling from the Herts Academy spinners really did put a brake on the innings. The score was probably 20 or 30 short of where we would liked to have been and it would need an outstanding fielding and bowling effort to be competitve. The 4 CCC spinners all bowled tidily, and 3 direct hit run outs including the first two wickets certainly helped the cause. The Herts batsmen all chipped in and ultimately three dropped chances by the CCC proved to be quite costly. Liam Mitchell was the pick of the CCC bowlers with figures of 2/27 off his 10 overs.
