Match report:
Surrey won the toss, & elected to bowl.
CCC - 141 all out (42.2 overs) Ed Kilbee 57, Amar Virdi 4/18.
Surrey - 144 for 6 wkts (29.1 overs) Dominic Sibley 63, Marwan Mohammed 3/42.
The CCC batted first with Guildford CC seamer Duncan Selmes taking the first wicket to fall before Ed Kilbee (57) and Dan Lezar (14) added 56 for the second wicket, when Kilbee was trapped LBW by Freddie van den Bergh.
That was the breakthrough Surrey required to start running through the order, with Amar Virdi getting rid of Lezar three overs later and taking back to back wickets in his subsequent two overs to land the CCC in deep trouble at 92/5.
This became 92/6 when Chris Jones got in the action, 93/7 when van den Bergh and wicket keeper Olly Batchelor combined for a run in the following over, and 93/8 when Virdi took his fourth wicket.
A spirited ninth wicket partnership helped the CCC post an defendable total before van den Bergh and Selmes returned to shut the innings down for 141.
In reply, Surrey based their rapid and successful chase around a totemic 63 from 55 balls by Dominic Sibley. Whilst no other batsman made 20 runs, they all made more than 10 with Ryan Patel (17) and Dan Douthwaite (14*). Marwan Mohammed was the best bowler for the CCC, completing his 10 overs with more than respectable figures.
Surrey continued at a good pace throughout the innings, eventually knocking the total off to record a comfortable victory from 29.1 overs.
