Wormsley hosts an unusual three-day T20 event when eight university teams from around the world descend on the Buckinghamshire countryside for the Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament. A finals day is scheduled for the Kia Oval on 26 July.
Leeds Bradford University, likely to be captained by Will Vanderspar of Brondesbury CC, play as England's representatives in three days of group matches, starting on 21 July. They compete against sides from Australia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
The standard of play will be high, especially if players such as Nick Gubbins, the Middlesex batsman from Teddington, Christian Davis, Wellingborough Town's England Under-19 all-rounder, Harry Rouse, the Bath seamer, and Alex MacQueen, Valley End off-spinner, are available.
This is the first time this excellent event is being held at Wormsley. Play starts at 10am, two matches a day, and tickets are available from £5 per adult and £1 for under 16s per day. A complimentary ticket for the finals day at the Kia Oval on Saturday 26 July will be distributed with every ticket purchased.
Universities competing:
UK - Leeds Bradford MCC
Australia - University of New South Wales
Bangladesh - University of Liberal Arts
